Denture

Dentures (false teeth) are removable false teeth which have been moulded to fit your unique mouth. They are usually made from plastic, metal or nylon, and may include just one or two false teeth, or a complete row of teeth. The false teeth are usually attached to a metal arch which fits snugly under the roof of the mouth, or around the lower jaw line.

There are two types of dentures available:

  1. Complete dentures – this is a full set of dentures which replaces all of your upper and/or lower teeth.
  2. Partial dentures – these can be used to replace one tooth or a few missing teeth.

Dentures are used to fill in any gaps in your natural smile, but they can also help prevent problems with eating and speech. The material will be made to mimic the natural feel and weight of your teeth. Some of the benefits of dentures include:

  • Improving or regaining your full bite – allowing you to eat chewy or crunchy foods without risking gum pain.
  • Reducing the risk of gum disease due to missing teeth.
  • Restoring a full smile.
  • Eradicating any speech impediments caused by missing or overcrowded teeth.
